Comments RSS

Submitted by wlm2048 on Sun, 03/07/2010 - 15:57

When I moved d.o to the new host, I also upgraded from Drupal (the software that runs the site) from version 5 to version 6. In the process, I lost the ability to have an RSS feed for comments that didn't require a login (yes, I know that's a security issue), so if you are an RSS whore (like me), you haven't been getting anything from the comments feed. I'm working on a solution to this, but that's where they went if you were curious.

*** Super Important Dunfoamin.org Stuff ***

Submitted by wlm2048 on Wed, 03/03/2010 - 14:37

Due to Events, I'm going to be moving d.o to a different hosting provider really, really, really soon. Like before Friday.

If you have a dunfoamin.org or theb.org email account, and still use it, you need to let me know asap. I'm not sure what's going to happen to them, and how much server stored email I'll be able to move over, etc. Some of y'all have a shit ton of email; start deleting junk - I'm not going to copy over 4G of ads. I still don't know how I'm going to set up the email when it moves over to the new hosting place, so you may be w/o email for a while.

I was just gonna copy/paste this and make it look like I'm awesome, but I'm even lazier than that, so I'll just post a link.

Resto Druids are the bloggin'ist people out there... I wonder if I should start one... maybe call it "Bill's Bear Blog" or something... I might get the wrong kinda hits though.

System Tray Audio Device Switcher

The other night I was complaining about having to go into the control panel and hop around a bit to change the default audio output from the internal card to the USB headphones. I figured there had to be a way to do it easier, and there is: System Tray Audio Device Switcher (STADS) adds a trayicon that lets you swap the default audio device with a click. Works on XP and makes me happy. It might do the same for one of y'all.

Google Phone

Submitted by wlm2048 on Mon, 12/14/2009 - 13:34

I'd asked in the last Apple bashing thread, "why doesn't Google step up their attack?"

Well, it begins now.

Then the Wall Street Journal broke the news wide open Saturday (modified numerous times since then) that Google isn't just producing a new phone with a cell network partner. They're going to sell the phone, unlocked, directly to consumers.

This is gonna be fun :)

Officers Meeting East - 9 Dec 2009

West 94th Street Pub in Durham seems to be equally inconvenient for everyone (especially if you divide distance traveled by number of tires on the road).

The prices (and fare) seem to be much closer to what we want from a place (see: Pub Loaded Fries).

See y'all there about 8.

The 'W' doesn't stand for Water, does it?

Howdy y'all.

I went to the beach so I could drink beer while Gabby ran a marathon (26.2 miles, on purpose, wtf).

Then, the storm came.
