I might buy a car

Submitted by unitinu on Mon, 06/29/2009 - 06:49

As anyone who's seen it will be aware (doubly so if you've ridden in it), my old 1995 Crown Vic is starting to come to the end of its useful life.

I'm a huge fan of the full-size sedan driving experience, so I've been looking at something in the same genre to replace it. It may seem like an unwise time to start shopping for a new car, what with the impending job loss, but the job search seems to be going acceptably, and my live-in brother-in-law is going to be resuming regular decent-sized rent payments which will by themselves more than cover the payments.

Anyway, I told you all that to tell you this. I've been lusting after these three delightful little numbers on Carmax, in approximate order from WANT! WANT! WANT! to DO WANT.

The first of them has utterly stolen my heart (British Racing Green with tan leather, man. I mean, come ON (not to mention 387 torque and 370 horses)), but paying that transfer fee just to get a proper look-see and a test drive gives me the all-out willies.

I'll probably go for the second one, based on that, but all three are definitely in the running.
