Apple Time Capsule

I was poking at the heavenly Apple store at Southpoint Mall yesterday when lo' and behold I came across the shiny Time Capsule toy. It *looks* really really spiffy and seems to be something which Heather and I [both Macbook and iPhone owners] can use.

However, I'd like to find out if I can use the Time Capsule as an NFS server (to mount it from a remote Linux client, and I have a host here that I'd like to use the Time Capsule as an NFS root). The "geniuses" at Apple seemed unsure and were totally unable to help. All they new was that it worked with SMB/CIFS and apparently AFP for Mac.

Even Google results were inconclusive. >gasp!<

So I figure I'll put out the call to you guys and see if anyone happens to know the answer. :)

An added bonus would be if I could access the files on the Time Capsule via SSH like a typical NAS device. That would be really stellar. If NFS and SSH/SCP/SFTP was doable, I'd be replacing my Shuttle cube with it, and very soon.

Also, Heather and I would like to put both of our iTunes libraries on the Time Capsule and merge them into one (the Internet seems to show this can be done). The only issue I see us having would be if one of us purchases something from the iTunes store, would it screw up the library or would we be able to use that purchased item on the other one's computer? I can't see Apple actually allowing that to happen. :) (We wouldn't be intentionally trying to cheat "the system" or steal from iTunes, tho.)

Anyway, just some thoughts. Thanks to anyone who can help. :)

PS -- Bill: What was that thing you were telling me about just before you left on the last day of the LAN party? Wasn't it for something of this similar nature that wasn't an Apple device but you still got it to do Time Machine backups, and still the NAS-like functionality? And something else you had to do 802.11n? My old age and non-memory is killing me.. :(
