The sickness...
It seems I have updated the WoW install on my mac pro. I don't know what it is, but something about the game is just, well, better for idle futzing around than Lotro (something that is no doubt enhanced by the fact I can run WoW without rebooting, but that isn't the whole of it).
I haven't installed cosmos, or fully remapped keys to actionbars, or made macros (or even logged in Aruk, Thugak, or Akhilleus . Rather, I rolled up that Blood Elf warlock I'd always been meaning to make and deleting at level 10).
Hey, it isn't not fun!
Additionally, it just works. I can jump when I want to jump, I can see what the hell is going on, and I don't hear people shouting at 10 dB louder than the rest of the combat noise or ambient sound every time there is a fight. They (as of 2.3) boosted the 20-60 experience and changed a lot of elites to normals, or so I've read, too.
Anyway, what all this made me realize is: I miss, well, the variety of a Thursday Night game. I always had the desire to mix up a group of random screw ups - no warriors, priests, rogues, or mages - just the unwanted and unloved (and druids and warlocks and hunters. Er, yeah). I'd even play a healer.
I'd even play a shaman. Yeah, I said it. I'd even play a resto shaman. An Alliance resto shaman. We're talking sacrifice.
It's not (I hope) that I miss WoW, so much as (I think) that LotRO just isn't WAR, and we all end up not playing LotRO so much.
So - Would anyone else be interested in trying to resurrect a ThN game of some sort? It was great success (/Borat voice) until we had our tank problem. WoW isn't the only possible venue, of course, just one that would be easy.
