For those of you who've been holding out, DoW2 and the Chaos Rising expansion are on sale as a package deal this weekend on Steam for $20. If you've any interest at all in RTS type games with an RPG component, do yourself a favor and pick them up. There's also a bonus game called The Last Stand where you and two friends get to see if you can last through 20 waves of attackers in an arena style match. Huge fun. Buy it. Now. Go on, you know you want to.

One of the few science fiction books to be reviewed in Nature. Worth it, if you like Stephenson's sort of book. Double worth it if you're even passing interested in philosophy, and triple worth it if you like geometry.

Looks like all my Addons have had their settings reset to their defaults. Included are Bagnon (no problem), Quest Helper (mainly minor cosmetic flaws), Pally Power, Omen, and Recount, and most importantly: both Grid and Clique.

The stock factory settings for Grid are "look shitty and don't tell me anything useful", and the stock factory settings for Clique are "just stand there with a gormless look on your face". Neither of these things is very good.

I appear to have been invited to join the ACM. Everything looks entirely and genuinely legitimate, even down to it arriving as a snail-mail pre-membership package. The URL and mailing address in the package seem to check out as real and official. Not very sure how to proceed at this point, but it'd be a hell of a thing for the ol' resume if all goes well.
