MMO

DDO, starting Weds. Jun 29

Kris and Amy have kind of been itching a little for something to play. then Kris found out that i currently don't have any significant MMO going on in my life at this time, so their motivation was stoked a bit. they've talked about a few things, tinkered with a few things, etc. they've played DDO before and enjoyed it, but got to a point that they really wished they had more bodies.

so, here's the deal:

The hotness that is yet to be

Words can barely describe how awesome that will be.

If you haven't played KOTOR 1 yet - do so.

Edit: it is $10 on steam - don't try to buy it off amazon as it has reached collector status.

White Lion...

is gonna make a comeback with "When the Children Cry"

Fetch: This ability should now be defendable.
Fetch: This ability's range has been reduced to 65 feet, and its cost has been reduced. Additionally, this ability's cooldown has been increased to 30 seconds.

Tabula Rasa goes Free

After announcing Tabula Rasa was going the way of Auto Assault, it appears NCSoft has decided to make the sci-fi MMO free instead!

GameSpy review

just in case anyone feels like reading what they have to say:

Greenskin Ch 5 (and general guideline)

if you look at the local map, there are a bunch of dotted lines running all over the place. however, if you look more carefully (not -that- hard) you'll notice that one of the lines is heavier than the others. or, to be precise, -two- of the lines are.

one of those lines follows the order storyline, the other follows the destruction storyline.

you lost placement of Ch5 because you didn't follow the line through Ch4. the line goes through Ekrund... and hits a swirly gate which ports you to -- what is it, Barak Varr? tier2.

What server should we play on?

Well, after playing last night on a low pop server and never getting into any BGs, I think a higher pop server might be better. In my opinion, waiting to play the game is worth it if it means playing the game with more people.

What server should we play on?

* Red Eye Mountain
* Grimnir

Warhammer

okay, there's a list of release servers up, as well as a description of server types, so we should go ahead and pick where we're gonna be. unforunately, they went w/the same idea for "open pvp" as WoW did, so i'm rather disinterested in that type, though i could be persuaded to try one. (though w/the chicken debuff, i think it may be somewhat less ganky...) but i imagine we'll be taking up residence on a Core server. Red Eye Mountain is a Core North American server. figure that's gonna be us?
