booze

TN 7/12

Anyone up for some RL fun next Tuesday night? I'll officially be turning "middle-aged", and I think I could do with some moral support and a few beers. City Beverage @ 8pm or something? Someone who knows the area better than me should suggest somewhere, please.

Saint Viviana

Even the recovering Catholics should appreciate that December 2nd is the Feast of Saint Viviana (or Bibiana), the patron saint of hangovers. Please plan accordingly. As an aside, she is also the patron saint of headaches, insanity, mental illness, single women and torture victims. Conflate at your leisure. At least 3 of those go together rather well. :)

In lieu of flowers...

I'm not generally one for just pasting a link and saying, "here, read this," but... here, read this:

Hoist a glass!

A tribute to the hangover

Slate.com has a nice opinion piece about hangovers. It's worth a read, and it refers to Kingsly Amis as "the godhead of hangovers," so how can it be wrong. http://www.slate.com/id/2187387/
